These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Obsyde website at obsyde.com, the Obsyde Aegis security monitoring platform, the Obsyde API, the Obsyde Aegis WordPress plugin, and any other Obsyde products or services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Obsyde ("we", "us", "our") is Obsyde Ltd, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom.
To use certain Services (including the Obsyde dashboard, API, and billed subscription features) you must register an account. You agree to:
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
The Obsyde Aegis WordPress plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2+), free of charge, via the official WordPress Plugin Directory. The plugin’s local firewall protection (pattern matching, brute-force detection, method filtering, User-Agent checks) operates entirely within your WordPress installation and does not require an Obsyde account.
When you configure an Obsyde API key, the plugin connects to the optional Obsyde dashboard service. The data sent in that case (threat events, blocklist sync requests, heartbeat pings) is described in the plugin’s readme.txt and in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to, and not to permit others to:
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you breach this section.
Some Services (for example, paid Obsyde Aegis subscription plans) are billed on a recurring basis via Stripe. By providing payment information you authorise us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees for the selected plan, and to charge renewal fees at the start of each subsequent billing period until you cancel.
The Services, excluding open-source components distributed under their own licences, are owned by Obsyde Ltd and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
The Obsyde Aegis WordPress plugin (including any files in the wordpress-plugin/obsyde-aegis/ directory) is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later. You are free to use, study, modify, and redistribute it on those terms.
Content you submit through the Services (including site data we process on your behalf) remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Services to you.
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data-protection law.
We work hard to keep the Services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, apply security updates, or adjust features from time to time. For paid plans, any specific uptime commitments are described in the applicable plan documentation or a separate service-level agreement.
Support is provided on a best-efforts basis through the channels listed on the Contact page.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, except where required by law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every conceivable threat, or that they will meet your specific requirements.
Security products detect and block attacks based on known patterns and signals; no security product (including Obsyde Aegis) can guarantee protection against every attack. You remain responsible for maintaining sensible security practices across your own infrastructure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Obsyde Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with the Services.
Our total aggregate liability under or in connection with these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the greater of: (a) the fees you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) £100 GBP.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Obsyde Ltd against any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.
You may stop using the Services at any time and may close your account from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Services becomes commercially unreasonable.
Termination of your account does not affect sections that by their nature should survive (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law).
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers resident in other jurisdictions may have additional rights under their local law that these Terms do not restrict.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (for example, by email or a notice in the dashboard) before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you have questions about these Terms, get in touch via our Contact page.
